History

In the old presbytery and stylish outbuildings you will find Sense Suites, formerly known as Stadshotel Jeroen Bosch. At the old times we were the home for the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. This pilgrim’s route, which has been declared heritage of mankind, runs from Sweden, Poland, the Netherlands, Ireland, Great Britain or Turkey to France and from there in one route all the way to Galicia in the north of Spain. Pilgrims from far away or pilgrims who left elsewhere from the Netherlands enjoyed a meal and shelter in the parish of St. Jacob in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. To continue southward the next morning, stamped with a seal in their passport “Camino de Santiago”.

… with a lot of respect for courageous pilgrims, we still stamp a passport nowadays.
